Local Pubs

Although we don't have a local on our doorstep, we do have a number that are an enjoyable walk away.  Here, presented in order of distance.

The Ivy Inn

Considered our 'local' The Ivy is located, a 20 minute cross country walk away, in the neighbouring village of North Littleton.  The pub has recently undergone a revamp and mixes contemporary style with exposed timbers and beautiful stonework.  The restaurant has an unusual yet cosy feel.

There is a good selection of wines, lagers and ales, and a wide choice of  traditional bar meals (£15 main dish).

The Fish & Anchor

The Fish and Anchor occupies a charming spot, overlooking a weir on the banks of the River Avon. Beyond the large rear beer garden lies Offenham Touring Park, and further still, lovely views towards Windmill Hill Nature Reserve.  Work up an appetite with a pleasant 25 minute cross country walk.

A typical countryside pub, which has been under new management since mid 2023.  (£15 main dish).

The Thatch

A listed property, the first record of The Thatched Tavern dates back to the thirteenth century, but some historians believe there has been a building on the land since early medieval times.

With it's chocolate-box appeal, the pub is full of character & charm.  One of my personal favourites, thanks to an extensive menu and busy, local feel and just a 7 minute drive away  (£17 main dish).

The Fleece Inn

The Fleece Inn is steeped in history and folklore.   Originally built as a longhouse in the early 15th century, it became a pub in 1848.  The property remained in the same family until 1977, when it was bequeathed to the National Trust.

The pub is an 8 minute drive away in the picturesque village of Bretforton.  Well worth a visit, for the history alone. (£20 main dish).

Something different...

The Pudding Club

Enjoy an evening of entertainment at the renowned Pudding Club in the neighbouring village of Mickleton.  A light main course is followed by the 'Parade of Puddings'.  A fun evening where guests sit around large tables, taste seven puddings and vote for their favourite.

Festivals

Back to The Fleece at Bretforton.  The historic pub is a huge supporter of many traditions; Morris Dancing, Ceilidh and Wassail, along with folk nights and the renowned annual Asparagus Festival, which runs from 23rd April to 21st June.  Check out their website for a list of events they are hosting.

Variety is
      the spice                    of life

Michael's Mediterranean Restaurant and Da Luigi Italian Restaurant are situated in historic Chipping Campden, while The Broad Bean Tapas Bar is discretely tucked away behind Broadway High Street.

For a little more spice, The Food of India has a beautiful position overlooking Broadway's village green and Evesham's Thai Emerald, WOWS with it's spectacular water feature and coy carp.

Riverside Dining

There could be nothing more enjoyable than soaking up the sun while overlooking a river.  Here are some of our favourites, all offering something different but with one thing in common.

The Bridge & Anchor

With a local village vibe, The Bridge & Anchor is just a stone's throw away and occupies an enviable position on the River Avon.  Recently updated and under new management, The Bridge offers a traditional bar and a traditional menu.

With a double-sided see-through fireplace, deck chairs on the jetty and cosy outdoor pods, The Bridge has covered all bases.  (£17 main dish).

The Four Alls

The Four Alls, in picturesque Welford on Avon, has been elegantly restored and extended, tastefully mixing the old with the new. There is a huge beer garden, a beautiful al fresco terrace and a striking glazed extension with a lovely view onto the river.

The pub serves delicious Mediterranean inspired food.(£19 main dish).

Arrow Mill

South of the village of Arrow, the mill is thought to occupy the same site as that mentioned in the Domesday Book. The vast space feels surprisingly homely and cosy, sympathetically refurbished with log fires, exposed timbers and the original water wheel.

Outside, a terrace overlooks the mill pond and further still a drinks area occupies the river meadow.  A real treat!  (£20 main dish)

The Bridge Riverside Eatery

Situated in an idyllic setting on the banks of the River Avon, The Bridge is a smart riverside brasserie overlooking the Saxon bridge in Bidford On Avon.  The beautiful two level deck is swathed with 'sails' and provides the perfect vantage point in which to watch boats go by.

The Bridge offers an extensive menu with a good selection of fresh fish and locally sourced produce.  (£23 main dish).
